Sesame Turnovers — Kritika Pato

Ingredients

1. cookies, greek, bakery
2. 1/2 cup olive oil
3. 4 tablespoon water or soda water
4. 4 tablespoon orange juice
5. 1 each lemon, juiced
6. 6 tablespoon sugar
7. 4 cup flour
8. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
9. 1 teaspoon salt
10. —-FILLING—-
11. 1 cup ground walnuts
12. 1 cup ground almonds
13. 1 cup sesame seeds
14. 1 cup liquid sweetener
15. —-TO DIP—-
16. 1 orange flower water
17. 1 confectioners’ sugar

Preparation method

Mix olive oil, water, orange juice, lemon juice, and sugar. Sift flour, baking soda and salt together. Add olive oil mixture and work to a smooth dough. Cover and leave for one hour on floured board. Roll out dough about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into 3 inch squares. Mix ingredients for filling and place one heaped teaspoon in centre of each square. Moisten edges, cover the filling by folding the four corners and press firmly together in the centre. Bake in a moderate oven for about 25 minutes. While warm sprinkle with orange flower water and dip in confectioners’ sugar.
